Fishing of Fishermen

By TTrinh

Fishing is catching fish, usually using a fishing rod.

“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:18-20)

The Savior Jesus, when calling the fishermen of Lake Galilee (St. Peter, St. Andrew…), had meant that: [Fishermen, come with me, and I will teach you how to "fish people"]. Some paraphrased Bible versions have interpreted as “…how to catch men”. And those fishermen, apparently, had only caught fish with net. Thus, fishing, defined in the outline, is not necessarily done with rod or pole. Catching fish by any means is fishing.

If so, then one might infer (deduce) that getting the fish by hands, traps, spears, bows, crossbows, guns…should also all mean fishing. But the most common form is fishing with a rod, called fishing pole. The reason obviously is that with a rod that can deliver (deploy) a line, hook(s), sinker, and bait (lure), a “fish catcher” can be much more versatile: mobilizing, reaching far and deep, interchanging, peaceful casting (instead of shooting!), retrieving,…and… not getting wet (except wading in fly fishing without… wearing a w pant!)

Fishing with a fishing pole, one would be able to release after catching, hence the humorous term “Catch and [then] release” is often mentioned in the modern world. I’d like the old-fashioned way: I’d cook and eat all the healthy fish I could catch (within legal limits!)

And: “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called but few chosen.” (Matthew 20:16)

“…but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

The believers of Jesus who follow him lastly (in the end times) will be honored greatly (first) by Heaven; while the long-time followers might drop out and be regarded last. Believers tend to believe less in Jesus as time goes by. Near the end, people would leave Jesus, not follow Jesus.

Believing-and-following the Savior Jesus is simply easy (Matthew 11:28-30). But it is hard and hardly comes by if one does not know and understand his Truth. Many are called but only few are truly chosen. Nevertheless, God can cause many to turn back to him and change all that. What’s going on here is actually Fishing.

This amazing book: THE SECRET TRUTH OF JESUS is published in November 2013. It presents the hidden Truth, the Holy Grail of Jesus about Eternal Life. And it can decipher the Da Vinci Code! It truly reveals “the number 666 of the beast” and “the end of the world” that no one has ever known!…

“…the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.” Jesus’ parable teachings (Matthew 13:45-46).

This great, beautiful pearl can be seen in the book THE SECRET TRUTH OF JESUS (shown above).

“And this gospel of the kingdom surely will be preached in all the world for a witness [of God] to all nations; and then surely will the end come.” Jesus’ end prophecy (Matthew 24:14).
